Trump vs. Harris: Just the Facts
Read No Labels’ new breakdown of how Trump and Harris stack up on the issues voters care most about.
It’s only been a few months since we learned Kamala Harris and Donald Trump would be the leading presidential candidates in 2024, and plenty of voters still aren’t sure where the candidates stand. That’s why No Labels decided to put together this chart to compare their positions on the issues that voters say are the most important facing the country.
We kept the criteria for this chart tight, relying exclusively on the candidates’ official campaign agendas, party platforms, and what they have said in 2024. We ignored old statements from the candidates (each has been on both sides of a few issues) and other outlets’ descriptions of what they think the candidates stand for.
We also broke down their policy positions into two categories – those that could be implemented via executive action (highlighted in purple) and those requiring Congress to pass a new law (highlighted in yellow). This is critical: If Harris or Trump is making a campaign promise they can do through executive action, there is a good bet they will follow through if elected. But all bets are off if they need to negotiate with Congress.
So, give it a read, share it with your network, and let us know your thoughts. No Labels will keep working to cut through the noise and keep you informed, so you have the facts you need, right when they matter most.
I have two issues with this Issues Chart, and chose not to share it with my network.
I object to the characterization of Harris' ban on price gouging as "Grocery Price Controls". They are two different things. I make no claims that the ban on gouging will be effective, or that it will solve a real problem, but to call it price controls is wrong and misleading.
The chart helps to create the illusion that the election is mostly about issues. Yes, they are important, but for me the election is first and foremost about Trump's character and fitness for office. He is unfit.
