Giving Thanks for Real Leadership
This week, we’re giving thanks — for our allies on Capitol Hill who this month got a much-needed bipartisan infrastructure bill to the finish line, and for all of our readers and supporters who make our work possible.
Lots of Americans gripe about politicians at the Thanksgiving dinner table, but on this week’s Thanksgiving edition of our recently launched No Labeling podcast, Margaret White and I turn things around and talk about some current lawmakers we are thankful to have in Washington:
House Problem Solvers Caucus Co-chairs Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) have been able to set aside so many differences and barriers and do some incredible work for the country.
Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) are the pinnacle of putting the country first.
Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) is one of the rare people who tells it like it is, and backs it up with his voting.
When Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) sees something that’s wrong, he says it, and doesn’t care if people don’t like it.
Since this time last year, these leaders and others like them crafted and passed both a major COVID relief bill and the bipartisan infrastructure bill. That’s the sort of commitment to two-party solutions for which we can all be thankful.
